Dalton is located in Whitfield County Georgia. Whitfield County covers 290 square miles near the Northwest corner of Georgia. Its northern-most border adjoins Tennessee. Dalton, which is centrally located within Whitfield County, is 30 miles south of Chattanooga Tennessee, and 90 miles north of Atlanta, Georgia. Dalton is within a one day drive of half the nation's population.
